As temperatures drop, many displaced and refugee families in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and other countries are facing another winter far from home. For many, this will be the ninth consecutive winter in displacement.
To escape war, violence and persecution, they had to leave everything behind — including warm clothing, blankets and other essentials. Many are forced to shelter in improvised tents or unfinished buildings, in flimsy homes that provide little protection from the cold and damp. Children are particularly vulnerable as they struggle to keep warm.
According to UNHCR estimations, 3.88 million people urgently need help to properly prepare for harsh weather conditions. With your support, UNHCR can provide them with core relief items and life-saving aid during winter months and beyond.
